5 Ways to Celebrate Halloween in the Napa Valley

Break out your costumes, put on your dancing shoes, and get ready to celebrate Halloween in the Napa Valley. Who said All Hallows’ Eve is just for children? The Napa Valley has plenty of sugary shops, boozy bashes, and haunted happenings to get you in the Halloween spirit.

Listen to Killer Music

Visit the Blue Note Napa for live musical performances leading up to the big day. Wonder Bread 5 is putting on a Halloween dance party with two hours of non-stop dance music. Attend the Halloween Bash with the Deadlies the following night. Celebrate the big day with a Halloween show featuring Grammy-nominated Louis York and The Shindellas. Costumes are encouraged.

Spooky Soirees

Castello di Amorosa throws their Pagan Ball every year, a huge Halloween costume party with lots of tricks and treats. Enjoy gourmet bites, estate wines, a haunted underground cave maze, a DJ, fortune tellers, cigar bar, photo booths, and ghoulish games. This may just be the biggest Halloween bash in the entire Napa Valley.

Eat, Drink, and be Scary at this Trefethen Family Vineyards event. Taste their estate wines, listen to scary tunes by a local DJ, take a creepy tour of the old winery, and enjoy snacks. Wear your best costume.

Head to Rutherford Hill Winery for their Halloween on the Hill bop. Join in on the night of fun as you tour their Devil’s Den wine caves while sipping on their estate wines and munching on finger foods.

Check with the wineries for more information and tickets.

Drinks so Good, it’s Scary

We look forward to seeing the Flora Springs Winery Halloween releases every year. These anticipated annual releases are wickedly good. This year they are offering two varietals, each with custom Halloween wine labels. Drop by this St. Helena winery for a taste of their Ghost Winery Malbec and All Hallows’ Eve Cabernet Franc. Book your tastings to coincide with their Interactive Paranormal Ghost Winery Tour. This wine tasting tour ventures around the historic property with Paranormal Investigator, Devin Sisk. Lunch and wine is included.

Check the Culinary of Institute of America at Copia calendar for upcoming Halloween themed events. Attend the Halloween Cocktails with a Twist class to up your cocktail game. Create cocktails using frighteningly delicious ingredients. Leave with the knowledge to make your own sinister concoctions at home.

Take a Frightful Train Ride

Keep a lookout for spooky offerings from the Napa Valley Wine Train. Besides offering a monthly Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, the train always puts on special rides for the season. Join them for their Tequila Day of the Dead Wine Train for a colorful celebration of this national holiday in Mexico. The three-hour journey includes four gourmet courses of authentic Mexican cuisine, Spanish tunes, and plenty of Tequila Casa Dragones along the way.

Eat some Sugary Sweetness

Just because you’re too old to trick-or-treat doesn’t mean you should be deprived on this candied holiday. Check out our latest post featuring the best chocolate shops around the Napa Valley.

Take the CIA at Copia’s family-friendly Spooky Treats class for a lesson on Halloween recipes for the whole family. Learn how to make Witches Fingers, Halloweenies and Sorcerer’s Brew in this demonstration-style class. Costumes welcomed.
